Another Helping Hand

TOGETHER WE CAN

GIVING BACK THROUGH LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES

About us

In June 2017, Another Helping Hand became a registered charity in the United Kingdom (Charity No 1173560).

The charity was founded with the intention of empowering the Cambridgeshire community and providing equal support for education in areas where it is lacking in order to combat poverty and enhance people's lives.

Supporting Children in Education

Education is a fundamental human right for all children regardless of ethnicity, race or income. It is critical for long-term economic growth and essential for the achievement of all the United Nations sustainable development goals. For those children who are in school, many are not actually learning.

For the benifit of children in rural Bangladesh, education will empower them to reach their full potential and assist in ending poverty. It is a prerequisite for the development of labour, improved quality of life and increased life expectancy.

Another Helping provides grants to schools for projects to enhance and increase learning opportunities.

Supporting Women with Education

Another Helping Hand works with schools and volunteers to provide women in rural Bangladesh with a number of life and vocational skills. These include the following:
•    Training in hand sewing – providing women with the means to sell hand-crafted garments to nearby markets and beyond as a means to earn a sustainable income.
•    Educational skills in reading, writing and arithmetic – we are working with existing schools to setup an Adult Learning Programme where women will be taught to read, write and use arithmetic.
Another Helping Hand will work with existing educational establishments as well as looking into other charities in order to provide the appropriate support to get Adult Learning Programmes into schools. We will ensure the topics being covered are relevant to building the women's self confidence and life skills. Through this support we aim to empower the women and enhance their social and economic status within society.
